Location: Newington, NSW 2127 Salary range: $60,000-$80,000 per annum (Depending upon skills and experience) Positions: multiple Main duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: Participate in preparing, cooking, and serving mail meals, snacks, desserts and other food products in accordance with the menu and on occasion preparing “off-menu” items, doing so in a thorough and efficient manner. Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation. Receive and check quality of cooking materials Accommodate specific guest requests by preparing à la carte items, tailoring dishes to meet dietary preferences and requirements. Executes food production in accordance with standards of plating guide specifications. Ensure food safety of dishes served to guests with special dietaries (allergies, intolerances) Oversee and prepare complex meals and ensure that all dishes meet Jags Ristorante’s standards. Collaborate with other kitchen staff members on menu development, capturing seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Develop creative recipes or refine existing ones to ensure quality, authenticity, and consistency of Jags Ristorante Monitor and manage the inventory levels of food supplies and kitchen equipment minimizing wastes Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors of Jags Ristorante Manage and train the kitchen staff, including hiring, and scheduling, to maintain a smooth workflow. Analyse the food and labour costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and portion sizes. Monitor kitchen operations and address any related issues promptly Ensure compliance with all relevant health and food handling regulations to maintain safe kitchen environment. Foster a positive and inclusive kitchen environment that encourages teamwork, creativity and communication Engage with customers to gather feedback, enhancing our menu based on direct input and preferences To succeed in the role, you must meet below criteria: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a fast-paced dine-in restaurant Minimum qualification of Certificate IV in commercial cookery or diploma in hospitality Australian work experience is mandatory Experience in dealing with high-volume food production Knowledge of Italian cuisine Be available to work on both weekdays and weekends Possess understanding of food safety and HACCP Be able to prioritise and manage time efficiently Possess leadership skills and be able to train staff Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
