About the Role We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals for both our bistro and function services. This role requires leadership, creativity, and a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, contributing to menu planning, kitchen management, and an exceptional dining experience for all patrons. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of dishes according to menu requirements and customer expectations. Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation across all service areas. Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment. Develop, update, and implement menus, including daily specials and function catering options. Oversee inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and control costs. Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and occupational health and safety standards. Prepare food for large-scale functions, events, and catering services, ensuring efficiency and quality. Monitor kitchen operations, workflow, and equipment to maintain high performance standards. Collaborate with management to plan themed nights, seasonal menus, and promotional events. Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients, dishes, and kitchen procedures. Ensure kitchen facilities and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and operating safely. Assist in budgeting, cost control, and reporting on kitchen performance and expenditure. Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction. Innovate and introduce new recipes or techniques to enhance the dining experience. Address and resolve any kitchen or operational issues promptly and professionally. Skills and Qualifications: Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery. Diploma in Hospitality Management. One year of relevant experience in the related field. Strong knowledge of modern Australian cuisine and international culinary techniques. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency.
