Behind every strong community organisation is someone making sure everything simply works - this could be you. Inner northern suburbs of Brisbane Permanent Part-time role - 2 days a week (Monday & Tuesday) Experience and confidence in accounting systems such as MYOB, Xero or similar There are organisations that sit quietly at the heart of our communities, holding everything together without fanfare. They are the ones who ensure that local services continue, that volunteers are supported and that essential community organisations can operate with confidence, compliance and care. For decades, our client has stood firmly in this space, offering guidance, advice and unwavering support to those who need it most. Now, as they continue to grow and evolve, an opportunity has emerged for a seasoned Payroll Officer / Bookkeeper to join their close-knit team. Working part-time across two days, with the flexibility to increase hours when required, you will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, each one varied, each one meaningful. These community organisations are run by dedicated individuals, often volunteers, who rely on trusted expertise to ensure their people are paid correctly, their obligations are met and their finances are handled with care. Your days will centre on payroll delivery; ensuring wages, allowances and entitlements are processed accurately and on time, interpreting awards and agreements with confidence and responding thoughtfully to client enquiries. Alongside this, you will undertake a range of bookkeeping responsibilities, from reconciliations to reviewing accounts and supporting the preparation of reports. It is work that requires both technical skill and sound judgement. You will be supported by an experienced Finance Manager who leads through guidance and trust, offering hands-on coaching initially before giving you the space to take ownership of your work. The team shares knowledge openly and there is a strong culture of asking questions, sense-checking decisions and ensuring accuracy before anything leaves the office. We are looking for someone who brings genuine payroll experience, coupled with solid bookkeeping capability. You will be confident navigating accounting systems such as MYOB, Xero or similar, and comfortable managing multiple priorities across different clients. In return, you will join an organisation with purpose at its core. If you are a steady hand, a clear thinker and a payroll professional who takes pride in doing things properly, we would welcome your application.
