The Systems Analyst is responsible for analysing, designing, and improving information technology systems and business processes to support organisational operations and strategic objectives. The role involves working closely with internal stakeholders, management, and technical teams to identify business requirements, evaluate existing systems, recommend technology solutions, and oversee implementation activities to ensure efficient and secure IT operations. The Systems Analyst will play a key role in reviewing business workflows, supporting system integration, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring that IT systems align with organisational and customer requirements. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Analyse existing business systems, operational procedures, and workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimisation. • Consult with stakeholders, management, and end users to gather and document business and technical requirements. • Evaluate current IT infrastructure, applications, and business systems to determine performance, functionality, and suitability. • Develop functional specifications, process documentation, workflow diagrams, and system requirement documents. • Recommend and design system improvements, automation initiatives, and technology solutions aligned with business objectives. • Liaise with software vendors, service providers, and internal technical teams during system implementation and integration activities. • Assist in planning, testing, deployment, and support of new systems, applications, and business solutions. • Perform gap analysis, risk assessments, and impact analysis for proposed system changes or upgrades. • Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve reliability, scalability, and security. • Support data migration, reporting, and system integration projects where required. • Prepare technical reports, user guides, training materials, and operational documentation. • Ensure systems comply with organisational policies, cybersecurity standards, and operational procedures. • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance for business applications and operational systems. • Collaborate with IT support teams, developers, cloud engineers, and project stakeholders to deliver technology initiatives successfully. Skills and Experience Required • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline. • Strong understanding of business process analysis and systems design methodologies. • Experience with Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms, business applications, and enterprise systems. • Ability to analyse complex technical and business requirements and provide practical solutions. • Knowledge of system integration, databases, reporting tools, and IT infrastructure environments. • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. • Experience with cybersecurity, compliance, and operational best practices is desirable. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Reporting Line The Systems Analyst reports directly to the IT Manager / Technical Director or other nominated management personnel. Employment Conditions • Full-time position • Standard business working hours with reasonable additional hours as required • May require occasional after-hours support for system upgrades, migrations, or critical incidents • Position based in Australia.
