We offer an exciting opportunity for experienced Receptionists to join our Dental clinic in Smithfield for approximately 3-4 days per week. JCU Dental aims to support the vision of James Cook University Discipline of Dentistry through: Provision of clinical experience to dental students Comprehensive dental care to the public of northern Queensland Emergency dental care services when required Provision of clinical education and research environment The position The receptionist will report to the Senior Receptionist. Key duties: Check patients in and out of the clinic in a professional and efficient manner. Manage a busy phone line and respond to enquiries promptly and courteously. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments. Liaise effectively with dentistry students, dental staff, health professionals, and external health organisations. Attend to incoming and outgoing correspondence. Operate the EFTPOS machine and process payments accurately. Contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the team to support organisational objectives. Demonstrate appropriate and professional workplace behaviours, assist other team members as required, and undertake additional responsibilities as needed. Comply with workplace health and safety policies and procedures. Experience and aptitude: Experience in dental reception or another high-volume customer service environment will be highly regarded. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications. Demonstrated high-level customer service skills with strong interpersonal and communication abilities, including empathy and professionalism when dealing with people in high-stress situations. Well-developed oral and written communication skills, with effective time management abilities. High-level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines.
