An exciting opportunity is now available for an Alterations & Sewing Specialist located at our HQ in Burleigh Heads. You will work closely with the production team, with a goal to preserve the integrity of the design concept and to ensure the approved product can be reproduced and meet our high-quality standards. Your aim will be to ensure garments produced satisfy quality standards in terms of consistent fit, construction and workmanship across all our brands and categories. Key responsibilities of the role: Alterations and repairs of lace and silk gowns to a high standard and in an appropriate timeframe to meet production KPIs Liaising with our customer experience team to support the resolution process for a bride with any alterations and offer advise as required Handling a range of fabrics including silks, crepes and laces Repairing garments to GLL standard Finishing hems on MTO / STND / RTW garments Assessing and Performing any repairs and alterations to garments as required Assessing gowns and analysing via photos and video communication Assessing gowns to bride size ranges on the mannequin Assessing returned gown and accessories deeming suitable for stock Recognizing ongoing issues and liaise with production team to make modifications during the manufacturing process Updating Case Information in NetSuite as required including reviewing and adding case notes, creating and building workorders for assessments, alterations and additional fabrics Fulfilling BOMs for components used, route and timings Accurate cutting of fabrics and lace placement of motifs as required Reading and interpreting technical garment specification ensuring returns are withing GLL standards Using a range of machines, such as overlockers and hemmers to carry out a range of tasks and produce different finishes Altering machine settings to suit the type of material and finish required Checking that all finished garments match the pattern instructions and meet quality standards Reading and interpreting technical garment specifications and tech packs Monitor sewing machine operations and observe defects in stitching or machine malfunctions Required Skills: At least 4 years’ experience in garment construction Solid knowledge of sewing room process with an ability to use a range of industrial machinery including overlocker, plainsewer, coverstitch, elasticating.
