About the Department The Medical Imaging Department delivers a comprehensive range of services including: General Radiography Computed Tomography (CT) Ultrasound Interventional Radiology Fluoroscopy Cardiac Catheter Laboratory Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Theatre Imaging Services The service also provides remote rural reporting across Mackay HHS sites including: Proserpine Bowen Moranbah The department consists of approximately 80 FTE staff including: Radiologists Radiographers Sonographers Nursing staff Administration teams The Clinical Director forms part of the Medical Imaging Leadership Team alongside: Chief Radiographer Service Manager (Operations) The role is professionally supported by the Chief Medical Officer and operationally supported by the Executive Director Allied Health & Clinical Support Services. The department is also a Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists accredited training site within the Queensland Radiology Training Network, with rotating trainee registrars and strong teaching involvement.
