A leadership opportunity for a security professional who can operate across security operations, security engineering, governance, accreditation, risk management, and security assurance while leading a specialist security team. Reporting to the Head of ICT, you will play a key role in protecting critical systems and information assets, driving security uplift initiatives, and ensuring compliance with Australian Government security requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the ICT Security function across multiple projects and operational environments Drive the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of cyber security capabilities Lead security accreditation and certification activities across ICT systems and platforms Ensure compliance with Australian Government security frameworks, standards, and policies Oversee security risk management, verification, validation, and assurance activities Lead security incident detection and response capabilities Provide technical security leadership and mentoring to security personnel Support engineering reviews, audits, and security governance activities Partner with technical and business stakeholders to communicate security risks and recommendations Identify opportunities for automation and continuous security improvement Skills & Experience We are interested in speaking with candidates who bring experience across a combination of: Security Operations & Detection: SIEM platforms, SOAR technologies, XDR solutions, Security monitoring and incident response, Threat detection and investigation Security Engineering & Cloud Security: Hybrid cloud security environments, Security automation and orchestration, Infrastructure and platform security, Security tooling deployment and optimisation Scripting & Automation: Python, Ansible, JSON, Compliance automation, Security configuration management Governance, Risk & Compliance: ASD Essential Eight, Information Security Manual (ISM), NIST Cyber Security Framework, Security accreditation and certification, Risk assessment and security assurance Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Leading security teams, Security strategy and uplift programs, Executive and business stakeholder engagement, Translating technical risk into business outcomes Highly Desirable Active AGSVA Security Clearance Experience working within Defence, National Security, Government, or other highly regulated environments Experience supporting secure system accreditation and assurance activities This is an excellent opportunity to join a technology organisation delivering critical capability in a highly secure environment while leading meaningful cyber security outcomes across the enterprise.
