Job Info Location: ROMSEY, VIC Salary: Above Award Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description About the Role Romsey Early Learning is seeking a passionate and experienced Child Care Group Leader to join our dedicated early childhood team on a full-time basis (38 hours per week). This role is responsible for leading a room or group of children and delivering high-quality education and care programs that support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF), and National Quality Standards (NQS). The successful applicant will play an active leadership role within the service, guiding educators, maintaining strong relationships with families, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all children. Key Responsibilities Program Planning and Delivery Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging early childhood education programs aligned with the EYLF. Lead the daily delivery of educational programs, routines, and experiences for a designated room or group of children. Observe, document, and assess children’s learning and development. Ensure programs are inclusive and responsive to the individual needs, interests, and abilities of children. Leadership and Team Support Lead and mentor educators and assistants within the room environment. Guide and support team members to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained. Contribute positively to a collaborative and professional team culture. Assist in supervising and supporting students and trainees where required. Children’s Wellbeing and Safety Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment. Ensure children’s health, wellbeing, and safety are prioritised at all times. Implement positive behaviour guidance strategies and support children’s emotional development. Follow all centre policies, procedures, and child protection requirements. Family and Community Engagement Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and the wider community. Communicate effectively with families regarding children’s learning, development, and wellbeing. Encourage family participation and engagement within the centre program. Compliance and Administration Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and National Quality Standards. Complete required documentation and records accurately and within required timeframes. Use digital platforms, including OWNA, for documentation and communication. Professional Practice Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Participate in professional development and team meetings. Maintain current knowledge of early childhood education practices and sector requirements. Essential Requirements Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent). Current Working with Children Check. Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certifications. Sound knowledge of the EYLF, NQF, and NQS. Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Desirable Requirements Experience working in a long day care environment. Experience leading a room or supervising educators. Familiarity with digital documentation platforms such as OWNA. Understanding of inclusive practices and supporting children with additional needs. Employment Details Full-time position – 38 hours per week Salary range: $85,000 – $95,000 base salary plus superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience
