Company Accountant Accounting – Financial Accounting & Reporting Adelaide SA Part Time or Full Time Considered A well-established South Australian family-owned business operating across property development, construction and real estate is seeking an experienced and hands-on Company Accountant to join the team. About the Business This privately owned business has operated successfully in South Australia for over 40 years and has built a strong reputation across property development and construction. The business has also expanded into real estate and property management services and continues to grow across multiple entities. Based in North Adelaide, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with management in a diverse and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. The Role Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a varied and hands-on role responsible for the financial management and administration of multiple entities across the group. The successful candidate will support both the property development/construction side of the business as well as the real estate and property management operations. Key Responsibilities Financial & Management Accounting · Preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, cash flow forecasts, budgeting and variance analysis. · Bank and balance sheet reconciliations · Journal entries and month-end processing · BAS/IAS preparation and lodgements · Payroll processing and payroll compliance · Intercompany reconciliations · Assistance with year-end financial reporting and external accountants Construction & Property Development Accounting · Project and job costing analysis · WIP calculations and reporting · Development feasibility and cash flow monitoring · Tracking project costs and contractor payments · Monitoring funding and development expenditure Real Estate & Property Management Support · Trust account and rental reconciliation support · Monitoring property management income and expenses · Support with commission and rent roll reporting · Assistance with financial processes relating to sales and property management operations · Supporting the implementation and improvement of financial systems and reporting processes General Finance & Administration · Accounts payable and receivable processing · Supplier reconciliations and credit applications · Group insurance management · Office administration support as required · Assisting management with ad hoc reporting and business analysis Skills, Experience & Attributes The successful candidate will ideally possess: · Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce · CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) · Previous experience in construction, property development and/or real estate industries · Strong understanding of management accounting and cash flow management · High attention to detail and strong analytical skills · Ability to work independently and manage multiple entities · Strong communication and organisational skills · Intermediate to advanced Excel skills · Experience with accounting software such as Xero (or similar) and Excel This role would suit someone who enjoys working within a small and collaborative business environment and is comfortable being involved across both finance and operational functions.
