ABOUT THE ROLE Restaurant Chef Elliniko Greek Eatery is seeking an experienced and qualified Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a full-time position responsible for planning, organising and overseeing the preparation and cooking of food across our full menu. The successful candidate will lead in a fast-paced dining environment and contribute to our commitment to quality and consistency. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Plan menus and develop dishes in consultation with senior kitchen staff and management • Organise and supervise the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals across all periods • Estimate food and labour costs and order food supplies to budget • Monitor quality of dishes at every stage of preparation and presentation to maintain standards • Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise kitchen staff on cooking procedures • Discuss food preparation issues with management, front-of-house staff and, where applicable, dietitians • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations and WorkSafe obligations • Assist in recruiting, training and supervising kitchen team members • Coordinate kitchen operations during service to ensure timely and consistent delivery SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED MANDATORY • Minimum AQF Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Commercial Cookery / Hospitality Management, or at least 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualification (ANZSCO skill level 2) • Demonstrated experience planning and delivering full-menu service in a commercial kitchen • Strong knowledge of food hygiene, food safety legislation and HACCP principles • Proven ability to supervise and lead kitchen staff • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to deadlines in a team environment • Excellent communication and organisational skills If you feel you are a good fit, can work in a fast-pace environment and can lead a kitchen.
