The Role: The Cyber Security Analyst - GRC works under the guidance of the CIO and specialist cyber security mentors, as well as other functional managers and senior colleagues in the Information and Technology (I&T) Directorate, to undertake many of the important day-to-day aspects associated with the ongoing Cyber Security Program. They proactively contribute to the scoping and delivery of the program of work and are involved in monitoring and helping facilitate progress against planned activities, both in terms of specific initiatives and business-as-usual tasks such as alert monitoring, register maintenance and recurrent calendar-driven actions. You will hold the following responsibilities: Support DHUD in the pursuit of Department-specific and whole-of-government cyber security initiatives. Undertake research to contribute to initiatives and cyber security resilience. Evaluate and periodically review cyber security risks , and assist in risk management planning and reporting. Provide assurance and advice to maintain and enhance the quality of the Information Asset Register. Support audits, compliance assessments and gap analyses. About You: To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities: Sound knowledge of good practice GRC activities and industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST and/or SACSF Competence and confidence in using a range of cyber security and technical administration focussed technology products in a complex, formally administered environment Ability to collaboratively conduct cyber security related risk and compliance assessments, and to provide succinct and well-justified recommendations on the basis of those assessments. Demonstrates attention to detail and professional tenacity to contribute to improvements in how corporate and governance processes work. Desirable Qualification: Tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Law, Public Policy and Administration, National/International Security or related fields. Special Conditions Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years. Remuneration: ASO4 – $79,432 min – $83,266 max plus superannuation.
