We are seeking an experienced and reliable Bookkeeper / Payroll Officer to join our team. This role is suited to someone who is organised, professional, and confident managing bookkeeping and payroll responsibilities within an established business environment. The successful applicant must hold current BAS Agent accreditation and have strong experience in payroll and accounts management. About the Role You will be responsible for the day-to-day financial administration of the business, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, payroll processing, compliance reporting, and general accounts support. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting the wider team. Key Responsibilities End-to-end bookkeeping duties Weekly payroll processing and payroll compliance Superannuation, PAYG, STP and award interpretation Accounts payable and accounts receivable Bank reconciliations BAS preparation and lodgement Managing invoices, supplier payments, and employee records Monitoring cash flow and financial reporting Liaising with external accountants and management Maintaining compliance with ATO and Fair Work requirements Assisting with general office administration when required Essential Requirements Current Registered BAS Agent accreditation Proven bookkeeping and payroll experience Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance Experience with Xero, MYOB, (Simpro highly regarded, not essential) Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively Construction or trade industry experience highly regarded What We Offer Flexible working arrangements available (minimum of 3 days per week in the office) Stable and supportive working environment Long-term opportunity within a growing business Competitive salary based on experience If you are an experienced Bookkeeper with strong payroll knowledge and BAS Agent accreditation, we would love to hear from you.
