Our client is currently looking for 2 x Parks Operators to work in the Parks and Areas Team. Are you passionate about the outdoors and nature? About You / Must-Haves Relevant experience in horticulture and / or turf maintenance. Sound knowledge and experience in the use and maintenance of mowers, tractor and minor plant. Demonstrated understanding, knowledge and the ability to effectively follow Workplace Health & Safety procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Ability to work in a team environment and provide the highest quality of customer service to the public when responding to queries. Current MR class driver's licence , Safety Awareness Training - White Card, Basic Worksite Traffic Management, Provide First Aid Key Responsibilities Undertake general parks maintenance including, but not limited to, mowing, fencing, weeding, pruning, mulching, planting, spraying (with approved herbicides), and watering. Operate a variety of plant including trucks, tractors, ride-on mowers, small minor plant and where necessary implement basic worksite traffic management within the streetscape working environment. Undertake slashing / mowing, litter collection and debris removal of industrial, rural verges, fire breaks and access tracks. Maintain a high quality of work in accordance with agreed service levels and horticultural practices, and ensure agreed standards are met. Undertake routine or reactive maintenance works in accordance with maintenance schedules as directed by the Supervisor Parks and report progress and completion of works on a daily basis. Support the philosophy and practice of rotating with other horticultural services employees to ensure the multi-skilled approach. Maintain plant and equipment by undertaking prestart checks on daily basis, report incidents or maintenance issues to Supervisors Actively contribute to workplace safety, including the development, implementation and review of risk, hazard and safety documentation and processes. Maintain daily time sheets and attend and participate in regular toolbox meetings Respond to enquiries from general public and other external parties in a courteous and professional manner.
