Life Saving Victoria - Aquatic Industry Council (AIC) As part of Life Saving Victoria’s governance reforms , over the coming months, Council Executives will progressively transition to their new Council structures, including the appointment of Council Leadership Teams (CLT). As part of this transition, nominations are now open for up to five (5) volunteer Appointed Members to LSV's Aquatic Industry Council. Please note: These positions are appointed by Life Saving Victoria's Board of Directors. Inaugural appointments will be for either a 1- or 2-year term. ___ The primary role of the Aquatic Industry Council (AIC) is to provide strategic advice on the development, delivery, and evaluation of aquatic education, training, research, and advocacy initiatives that enhance effectiveness, safety, and sustainability at aquatic environments. The AIC provides a structured forum for affiliated organisations and industry professionals from the aquatic industry and education sector to act as a conduit for the sharing of information between members, LSV employees, specialist advisors, and the LSV Board. To support effective decision‑making, manage real or perceived conflicts of interest, promote psychological safety, and maintain clear role authority and accountability, some roles within LSV may not be able to be held concurrently with other roles. Accordingly, appointment to certain roles may limit an individual’s ability to hold, apply for, or continue in other roles within LSV or associated LSV structures. Any such limitations will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis, having regard to the nature of the roles, reporting relationships and operational context. The determination of role compatibility and eligibility is made at the discretion of Life Saving Victoria, in accordance with its policies, governance obligations and risk management considerations.
