Shift Fitter Adelaide, SA Manufacturing | FMCG About the Company Our client is a well-established Australian food manufacturer operating a large-scale, highly automated production facility in Adelaide. With significant production volumes and modern manufacturing equipment, the business supplies products nationally and internationally and continues to invest in its operations and maintenance capability. Due to ongoing growth and demand, they are seeking an experienced Shift Fitter to join their maintenance team. The Role This role will see you responsible for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of highly automated production lines. Working within a shift-based maintenance team, you will respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure production equipment remains operational in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Respond to mechanical breakdowns across production lines Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment Diagnose faults across motors, gearboxes, bearings and conveyor systems Carry out mechanical repairs and workshop tasks including welding and fabrication Support production teams to minimise downtime Communicate maintenance issues between shifts and departments Maintain a strong focus on safety and reliability across plant operations Production Environment The facility operates highly automated manufacturing systems , including: Industrial mixers and processing equipment Conveyor and material handling systems Cooling and drying systems Automated packaging machinery PLC-controlled production equipment Robotic palletising systems This is a high-volume FMCG production environment where reliability and efficiency are critical. About You To succeed in this role you will ideally have: Experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Fitter Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production environment Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills Experience working with motors, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors Ability to work both autonomously and within a maintenance team Confidence working under pressure in breakdown situations Candidates from FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging or industrial manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
