The role will focus specifically on the logistics division, working across fleet, transport, and collections operations within a high-volume, blue-collar environment. The business has undergone significant transformation in recent years and is now entering a strong growth phase, with a major focus on improving operational capability, safety maturity, and leadership accountability across the division. About the WHS Manager Role The WHS Manager will lead safety across the logistics division, with responsibility for transport operations, fleet risk, operational safety systems, and frontline safety performance. This is a hybrid strategic and operational role, suited to someone who can both influence senior leadership and remain hands-on within fast-paced operational environments. A key focus will be reviewing and strengthening existing safety systems, identifying gaps and operational risks, and implementing more proactive, prevention-focused safety processes. You will work closely with operational leaders, depot teams, and executive stakeholders to improve safety outcomes and embed consistent standards across the division. Key Responsibilities Lead WHS across transport, fleet, and logistics operations Review, uplift, and where required redesign safety systems, policies and procedures Drive a proactive safety culture focused on frontline engagement, critical risk management, and leadership accountability Ensure compliance with all relevant transport and WHS legislation and regulatory requirements, including HVNL, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVR requirements, and ISO 45001 standards Analyse incidents and trends, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions Lead or support serious incident investigations using ICAM or similar methodologies Conduct regular operational site visits across depots and field operations Oversee safety reporting systems, audits, and risk registers Provide guidance and assurance to senior leadership on critical risk exposure and safety performance Support training initiatives, toolbox talks, and operational safety communications Candidate Requirements Proven experience in a WHS leadership role within logistics, transport, fleet, manufacturing, or other high-risk operational environments Strong understanding of HVNL, Chain of Responsibility, and heavy vehicle operational risk Experience improving safety systems, processes, and operational controls Ability to influence operational leaders and drive behavioural change Strong incident investigation capability (ICAM or similar) Experience working with safety management systems and risk frameworks Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of the business Proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to operate effectively within changing environments Relevant WHS qualifications (Diploma or higher preferred) Culture You’ll be joining a fast-paced operational business undergoing significant growth and transformation.
