To support its ongoing commitment to maintaining premium standards, the business is seeking to appoint a detail-oriented and experienced Primary Product Inspector to oversee product quality and ensure all fresh produce consistently meets industry and customer expectations. Job Duties ·Ensure that food standards and hygiene requirements are maintained during storage and packing to protect product integrity and consumer safety. ·Oversee the packaging process, ensuring that fruits and vegetables are packed according to size, grade, and weight specifications, using materials that minimize bruising and extend shelf life. ·Check fruit and vegetable quality upon arrival, packaging and delivery, ensuring all produce meets required company HACCP standards. ·Follow guidelines for fresh produce to ensure products is free from defects, disease, decay, or foreign materials. ·Ensure transportation and handling procedures meet regulatory requirements, with proper temperature control and cold chain management to maintain product freshness. ·Keep comprehensive records and generate reports on quality control procedures, deviations, and outcomes to support process improvements and compliance documentation. ·Inspect final packed produce before dispatch, verifying that loading practices prevent damage during transport and that all pallets and crates are secure. ·Conduct visual and sensory inspections through sample testing, verifying produce origin and traceability to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards. ·Develop, audit, and report on quality procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, promoting high-quality. ·Conduct regular quality checks during packaging to identify and address any quality issues before finalizing packs, ensuring labeling accuracy for product origin, grade, and certifications. Skills and Experience required: ·Diploma level qualification is required. ·Minimum 1 years of relevant experience is required. ·Understanding of Food Act 2006 (the Act) and HACCP guidelines. ·Strong knowledge of quality standards and grading systems for quality fruits. ·Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality certifications. ·Good communication skills.
