The Galley Restaurant is currently seeking an experienced and motivated full-time Chef to join our busy kitchen team on the Gold Coast. We are looking for a qualified professional with strong culinary skills, experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, and a passion for delivering high-quality food and service standards. This position is a full-time role minimum 38 hours per week and is available for immediate commencement. Duties and Responsibilities Preparing, cooking, seasoning, and presenting a range of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and restaurant standards Assisting in the planning and development of menus and seasonal specials Monitoring food preparation and portion control to maintain consistency and minimise wastage Ensuring all food is prepared and stored in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations Inspecting food supplies and raw ingredients to ensure quality standards are maintained Managing stock rotation, ordering, and kitchen inventory control Assisting in the supervision and coordination of kitchen staff during service periods Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety procedures Working collaboratively with management and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations Skills and Experience Required Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or related field (preferred to have Diploma in Hospitality Management) Minimum 1 - 2 years of relevant full-time post-qualification experience as a Chef Experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Flexible availability including weekends and public holidays Employment Details Full-time position Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per annum plus superannuation depending on experience Minimum 38 hours per week To apply, please submit your resume and cover letter.
