Salary: $69,000 – $80,000 per year plus superannuation About the Role Goodway Life is seeking a reliable and compassionate Disabled Carer to provide high-quality in-home and community-based support to people with disability in Cairns, QLD. The successful candidate will assist clients with disability with daily living activities, personal care, routines, community participation, and general wellbeing in a respectful, safe, and person-centred manner. This is a full-time, permanent role. The position may involve day, evening, weekend, and active overnight shifts, depending on client needs. Key Responsibilities Provide personal care and daily living support to people with disability? Assist clients with mobility, hygiene, dressing, grooming, meals, and other personal needs? Support clients to participate in social, recreational, and community activities? Assist with household routines and maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive home environment? Support clients with structured routines, engagement, and meaningful activities? Monitor client wellbeing and report any changes, concerns, incidents, or risks to the support team? Maintain accurate shift notes, care records, and incident reports as required? Communicate professionally with clients, families, carers, and other support staff? Follow individual care plans, workplace policies, and relevant NDIS and care standards? Provide support during day, evening, weekend, and active overnight shifts as rostered Essential Requirements Previous experience working as a Disabled Carer, Disability Support Worker, Personal Care Assistant, or similar care role? Experience supporting people with disability in a home, community, or care setting? Ability to work full-time, including day, evening, weekend, and active overnight shifts as required? Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain? NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain? Current driver’s licence and/or reliable transport? Strong communication skills and ability to work respectfully with clients, families, and team members? Ability to maintain professional boundaries and follow care plans and workplace procedures Desirable Certificate III or Certificate IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or a related qualification? Experience providing personal care, manual handling, and medication assistance? Manual handling training? Medication assistance competency?
