Position: Mechanical Engineer Technician Position Type : Full-Time Salary: $85,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: North St Marys NSW 2760 Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Technician to join their team located in North St Marys, New South Wales. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of packaging and manufacturing machinery. Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and testing of mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Identify mechanical faults, equipment wear, and operational inefficiencies, and assist in implementing corrective solutions. Support engineers and production teams in troubleshooting machinery breakdowns and technical issues. Assist in the development and modification of mechanical systems, machine components, and production processes. Prepare and maintain technical reports, maintenance records, service logs, and engineering documentation. Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase productivity, efficiency, and workplace safety. Assist in preventive maintenance scheduling and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and workshop personnel regarding equipment servicing and technical requirements. Ensure all machinery and mechanical systems comply with workplace health and safety standards and company procedures. Assist in the calibration, adjustment, and commissioning of production equipment and automated machinery. Support quality assurance processes by ensuring machinery operates within required specifications and tolerances. Participate in production planning discussions relating to equipment capability and operational efficiency. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree At least five (5) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience Strong understanding of mechanical design and engineering principles Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar) Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
