About Us Matung Kunarr is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation (ACCO) which provides specialist Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal child, family and disability services. We are a Not for Profit organisation that prides itself on offering quality support services including child and family services, allied health services, behaviour support, community and disability support . Our service delivery includes children, young people and adults in the Central Coast, Tweed Heads, Newcastle and Hunter regions. About the role We are seeking compassionate, reliable and experienced House Coordinators to join our Out of Home Care team on the Central Coast NSW. Our House Coordinators oversee a team of dedicated therapeutic youth workers and 1 IPA placement. The role is responsible for ensuring documentation, reporting and planning for the placement is completed, as well as liaising with stakeholders and ensuring therapeutic, consistent care is being provided to our children and young people. House Coordinators at Matung Kunarr work a mix of assigned administration days in office and shifts on the floor within the placement . Shifts in placement are primarily day shifts on weekdays. Some sleepovers, active night shifts and weekend work is required to ensure the House Coordinator has a big picture view of the placement across different times. Key Responsibilities Support young people to lead stable, purposeful lives, with hope and in line with Matung Kunarr values, legislation and the OCG’s Standards of Care. Lead and support a team of support workers within your allocated program. Manage high complexity behaviours and deescalate situations where young person becomes heightened Complete required reporting and record keeping and ensure all program documentation is up to date and accurate. Understand and apply Behaviour Support Plans and assist other support workers in doing so. Matung Kunarr has Part-time and Full-time House Coordinator roles available, 24-38hrs per week. The salary range for these roles is $38.65 – $41.45/hr. Shift penalties, overtime and allowances are in addition. About You You are a positive, composed mentor and great listener with a dedication to ensure young people feel heard, valued and empowered . Your approach is focused on respect, dignity and care. Skills and experience Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, social sciences, community services, education, health, early childhood, criminology, policing or similar. Or equivalent experience. Experience in out of home care, child protection services, psychology or allied health services. Experience in a management role in the community services / allied health sector or similar. Experience working directly with children / young people and families with complex support needs and disabilities, preferably in child protection or out of home care services.
