About the position A position has become available for a permanent full-time Rostering Officer to join our friendly team in North Perth. The Rostering Officer is responsible for the development and management of staff rosters across two aged care facilities, ensuring sufficient staffing levels are maintained to uphold continuous delivery of high-quality care, support, and wellbeing for all residents. Key Duties: Create, schedule and manage staff rosters for approximately 115 employees, always ensuring consistent staff coverage across Casson House (psychiatric hostel) and St Rita’s Nursing Home. Liaise with facility managers to ascertain service demands, identify staffing gaps, operational needs, and confirm staff availability across both facilities Work closely with facility managers to arrange & authorise all staff personal leave, annual leave, long service leave, and unpaid leave ready for processing. Respond to unplanned staff absences and coordinate replacements in a timely manner & liaising with external staffing agencies to fill urgent shifts when our own staff are unavailable to do so Liaise with external staffing agencies to book & fill shifts where our own staff are unavailable Reconcile agency timesheets with agency invoices Onboarding of new staff in the use of Deputy (our rostering clock in and out program) Input new staff information into Deputy profiles, including award, classification, level, ordinary rates and penalty rates. Respond to all staff rostering complaints and feedback in a timely manner Ensure compliance with relevant industrial awards (Aged Care Award & Nurses Award), contractual agreements, and ensure staffing ratios are always upheld and within budgeting constraints Ensure rosters comply with minimum rest periods between shifts, maximum shift lengths, penalty conditions, broken shifts, paid & unpaid meal breaks, and other entitlements across the relevant awards. Maintain accurate records of each staff member’s contracted shifts, shift changes, and staff communications related to shifts and rosters Support continuous improvement in rostering processes and tools Key Requirements: Strong time management, analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrates a keen eye for detail, high level of accuracy & precision Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 2 years’ experience in a similar rostering role, using electronic systems e.g Deputy, Wageloch Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to staffing changes Understanding confidentiality, privacy, and data protection principles Able to work independently and interpret Awards and Agreements Ability to work collaboratively across teams with limited supervision Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel, Word & Sharepoint Well-developed customer service skills Takes ownership of tasks and responsibilities Experience in aged care, healthcare, or mental health settings Familiarity with relevant awards or enterprise agreements in the health/aged care sector Unlimited work rights in Australia Works with kindness, care and compassion This position is Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, or 8am–4pm, free parking is available.
