We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our team at our Gladstone site - home to a 1.7 million tonne per year capacity clinker kiln, a quick lime kiln, two cement mills, and significant material handling infrastructure spanning stacking, reclaiming, packaging, road, rail and bulk ship-loading. If you want to do process engineering at the largest scale possible in Australian cement manufacturing, this is the opportunity. Your Opportunity In this role you will: Monitor and optimise cement manufacturing processes to ensure plant and equipment operates safely within target control parameters Measure and report on critical control parameter compliance, reviewing trends and identifying opportunities to improve performance Use statistical process control to measure, understand and reduce process variability Liaise with control room personnel and provide guidance on process interventions to meet targets Investigate process upsets to determine root cause, make recommendations and drive implementation Monitor clinker, lime and cement chemistry trends and take corrective action where necessary Conduct field inspections and daily thermography scans of the kiln, calciner and cyclone tower Provide technical support and recommendations to engineering, maintenance and production teams Develop and implement process improvement initiatives and support optimisation projects Execute and report on process trials What You'll Bring High safety awareness and demonstrated commitment to safe operations Bachelor of Chemical Engineering or equivalent - essential Proven experience as a Process Engineer in the cement industry including clinker kiln process optimisation - essential Strong understanding of production processes and process technology improvement Knowledge of engineering concepts including P&IDs and technical drawings High safety awareness and demonstrated commitment to safe operations Strong communication skills - written and verbal including report writing A positive, high energy attitude with a genuine drive to deliver results Ability to build strong working relationships across all teams on site Why Join Cement Australia?
