About the Role As the Air Import & Export Operator, you will be responsible for coordinating end-to-end air freight shipments while ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency across all stages of the freight forwarding process. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth customs clearance, timely deliveries, and accurate documentation management. Key Responsibilities Manage import and export air freight operations from start to finish Handle customer enquiries via phone and email Register and manage shipments within CargoWise Coordinate shipment documentation and pre-alerts Liaise with overseas agents, airlines, customs brokers, and transport providers Process and monitor customs and quarantine clearance requirements Arrange cartage and final delivery coordination Monitor transhipments and provide proactive shipment updates to clients Coordinate AQIS inspections and underbond movements Process EFT payments and organise EDOs where required Monitor ICS tracking and customs status updates Finalise invoicing and billing for shipments Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance procedures Meet operational deadlines within a high-volume environment Skills & Experience Experience within the Australian freight forwarding industry Strong knowledge of air import and export operations CargoWise experience is essential Experience with freight forwarding invoicing processes Understanding of customs clearance and freight documentation Knowledge of sea freight operations is highly regarded Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines A proactive attitude with a strong work ethic What’s on Offer Join a stable and growing freight forwarding company Supportive and collaborative workplace culture Genuine internal career progression opportunities Exposure to end-to-end international freight operations Professional working environment with experienced industry mentors Competitive salary package based on experience If you are an experienced Air Import & Export Operator looking to join a company that values its people and offers long-term career opportunities within freight forwarding and logistics, we would love to hear from you.
