Position: Chef Position Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $76,600 - $80,000per annum plus superannuation Location: Port Road, Boat Harbour Beach – Tasmania 7321 Seekers Bar & Café Pty Ltd t/a Seekers Bar & Café is looking for a full-time chef to join our Restaurant on Boar Harbour Beach. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our growing, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality food and memorable dining experiences while supporting local families and businesses. This role is vital in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and food safety. Key Responsibilities (Chef) Duties But Not Exhaustive: ·Responsible for organising and coordinating the preparation and cooking process within a dining ·Assist in planning daily menus, taking into account customer demand, seasonal ingredients, and cost efficiency. ·Estimate food and labour costs, and coordinate ordering of fresh produce and kitchen supplies to maintain smooth operations. ·Monitor food quality throughout preparation and presentation to ensure consistent standards are met. ·Liaise with managers, dietitians, and front-of-house staff to resolve food preparation and service issues. ·Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes, maintaining consistency and flavour standards. ·Demonstrate cooking techniques and guide staff on proper food preparation methods and procedures. ·Enforce hygiene and food safety regulations, ensuring compliance with all required standards at all times. ·May assist in selecting, training, and supervising kitchen staff to support team performance ·Managing food storage, including preservation and stock control practices Requirements ·Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management (or higher) ·Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Chef in a similar environment ·Knowledge of Food Hygiene & OHS Standards ·Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and good communication skills. ·Ability to work closely with management and kitchen staff to ensure consistent, high-quality service. ·Good communication and teamwork skills to support smooth kitchen operations. ·Strong attention to detail in food preparation, presentation, and portion control. ·Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
