About the role: The Mental Health Online Professional Development (MHPOD) Program (the Program) is a national eLearning initiative focused on building the mental health knowledge and skills of Australia's health and related workforces. The Victorian Department of Health, on behalf of Australian jurisdictions, manages the operational and strategic development of the Program in close collaboration with jurisdictional partners and under the guidance of a national steering committee. The MHPOD Senior Policy Advisor will work as part of the department's Mental Health Workforce Development team to manage the development of the Program as it expands its range of content, builds collaborative partnerships with national and jurisdictional organisations aligned to professional development activity, and strives to create innovative and engaging digital learning experiences. About you: Can you demonstrate the following? Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet, and agency submissions on complex matters. Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach. Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring, or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines. Operate within increased level of autonomy and accountability in delivering within broad strategic directions. Undertaking research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and inputs. Qualifications / Specialist Expertise A tertiary qualification in fields related to public health and a demonstrated understanding of Australia's broad mental health and interrelating workforces. Mental health clinical and workforce service experience from across specialist, community and or NGO mental health services Experience in the development or delivery of learning material (either face-to-face or online)\ Experience with collaborative engagement approaches (e.g., co-production; co-design) An understanding of challenges faced by people with mental illness, mental health challenges or psychological distress, including as a family member, carer, or supporter.
