Overview : Founded by the renowned Dr. Rick Fenny, Pets and Vets has been a cornerstone of Western Australian animal care for over four decades. From our humble beginnings in the Pilbara to our current network of 14 clinics across WA, we are dedicated to compassionate care and clinical excellence. We are looking for a Veterinary Nurse to join the team! In this role, you will provide expert clinical support to the Veterinarian while simultaneously managing the administrative, logistical, and client-facing operations required to maintain a functional and profitable practice. This is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Collie, WA. Main tasks : -Preparing patients for procedures and surgery, including safe restraint and positioning. -Assisting with the placement of catheters, blood collection, and the implementation of prescribed treatment plans. -Monitoring patient recovery post-surgery to ensure the highest standards of quality care and patient wellbeing. -Providing hands-on assistance during surgical procedures and manage the cleaning, sterilisation, and assembly of surgical instruments and packs. -Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the surgery and treatment rooms to meet clinical standards. -Overseeing the surgical discharge process, ensuring patients go home with correct medications, E-collars, and comprehensive post-operative care instructions. -Coordinating patient admissions for hospital stays or surgery, ensuring all consent forms are accurate and signed, and preparing comprehensive documentation for specialist or emergency referrals. -Managing complex appointment booking for surgeries and consultations while overseeing drug orders and the organisation of special prescriptions. -Maintaining and updating detailed client records, including online microchip registrations and all mandatory paperwork for SAFE (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) organisation. -Efficiently manage customer payments, facilitate payment plans when required, and process complex insurance claim forms. Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience : -Minimum of a relevant Certificate III and 3 years’ relevant work experience -Cert IV certificate must be registrable in Western Australia Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge : -Excellent customer service and communication skills (Written & Verbal). -Ability to work in team environment. -Lead a team. -High attention to detail. -Ability to work unsupervised. -Patience and empathic. -Multi-task when under pressure. -Ability to be organised and prioritise conflicting tasks.
