POSITION SUMMARY The Project Engineer - Transmission - Supply is responsible for supporting the engineering, procurement and delivery of transmission line materials for the Western Renewables Link (WRL) project, including line hardware, conductor, OPGW and associated fittings. The role focuses on procurement engineering, technical compliance. The position works closely with the Senior Project Engineer - Transmission, Supply Chain, Designers, Construction Teams and Vendors to manage schedules, mitigate supply risk, resolve technical queries and support the readiness of materials for stringing and erection activities. RESPONSIBILITIES General Support the Senior Project Engineer in the engineering and procurement management of transmission line materials. Coordinate technical, commercial and logistical inputs to ensure materials are fit for purpose, compliant and available to meet construction demand. Act as an interface between design, procurement, suppliers and construction teams for transmission materials. Support risk identification, mitigation and reporting related to material supply, quality and programme. Transmission Materials - Engineering & Procurement Support development and review of technical specifications, data sheets and schedules for transmission line hardware, conductor, OPGW and fittings. Assist with RFQ and tender adjudication processes, including technical compliance reviews and clarification management. Coordinate and manage technical queries (TQs), deviations and concessions with designers, suppliers and internal stakeholders. Review supplier drawings, manufacturing documentation and material submittals for compliance with project requirements. Support design freeze alignment between approved IFC documentation and procured materials. Supplier & Manufacturing Interface Coordinate with suppliers on manufacturing programmes, inspection hold points and quality surveillance requirements. Support factory inspections, witness testing and acceptance activities (as delegated), including collation of inspection records. Track supplier performance against schedule, quality and documentation deliverables. Assist in resolving manufacturing, quality or non-conformance issues in consultation with senior engineering and quality teams. Logistics, Delivery & Construction Interface Coordinate with Supply Chain and construction teams on delivery sequencing, packaging, storage and handling requirements for transmission materials. Support planning for material call-offs, laydown strategies and distribution to erection and stringing fronts. Ensure materials are delivered with complete quality dossiers, certification and identification records. Support readiness of materials for tower erection, conductor stringing and OPGW installation activities. Reporting, Controls & Handover Maintain material tracking registers, status reports and risk logs for assigned supply scopes. Support cost tracking, variations and change management related to transmission materials procurement. Contribute to progress reporting, look-ahead planning and supply risk assessments. Assist with material handover documentation to construction and commissioning teams. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or related discipline). 3-7 years' experience supporting procurement or delivery of materials for transmission, electrical or major infrastructure projects. Demonstrated exposure to transmission line materials (conductors, OPGW, fittings or hardware) or similar engineered products. Experience supporting supplier coordination, technical submittals and inspection processes. Understanding of QA/QC systems, including inspections, test plans, MDRs and NCR processes. Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and standards relevant to transmission materials. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple interfaces. Clear communication skills and ability to work across engineering, supply chain and construction teams.
