The Opportunity Lead a team responsible for the operation, support and continuous improvement of platforms and middleware hosted on AWS that enable backend application development using Java and JBoss. This role provides technical leadership to deliver stable, secure, and well‑governed environments, supporting application integrations and CI/CD pipelines that underpin reliable delivery. You will contribute to platform architecture, standards and lifecycle practices, improving service resilience, developer enablement, and team capability. About you You are a technically strong leader with an operations‑focused background supporting platforms and middleware in AWS environments. You bring a solid understanding of Java‑based platforms, integrations, databases and CI/CD tooling, and work effectively with development teams to ensure systems are resilient, fit for purpose and aligned to business and operational needs. Education Qualifications / Licences Education Qualifications / Licences Special Conditions A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years. Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required. This role may be required to provide rostered after-hours on-call support throughout the year.
