CDC Canberra is seeking a practical and organised Operations Supervisor to join our Operations Team based at our Queanbeyan Depot. This is a hands-on operational role focused on keeping services covered and running smoothly each day. You will work in a fast‑paced environment where clear communication, good judgement and accurate record‑keeping are essential. About the Role As an Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day coordination of services. This includes: monitoring daily rosters, managing driver and vehicle allocations, and responding to operational issues as they arise. Working closely with internal teams when breakdowns, delays or disruptions occur to maintain safe and reliable services. Documenting key activities and changes including roster changes, service coverage decisions, absences, incidents, breakdowns, driver updates and handover notes. These records support payroll, investigations, contractual reporting and compliance requirements. Supporting contractual and regulatory compliance by ensuring services are covered, decisions are recorded, and work is completed in line with company procedures, fatigue requirements, NHVR obligations and safety expectations. This role may suit someone from transport, logistics, dispatch, radio operations, control room work, rostering, administration or service coordination. Bus industry experience is helpful, but not essential. What we are looking for Strong computer skills, including email, Excel and accurate data entry. Good attention to detail and strong record keeping. Clear written and verbal communication. Ability to stay calm and make practical decisions under pressure. Ability to manage changing priorities in a busy operational environment. Confidence using phones, radios or dispatch-style communication. Willingness to learn transport operations, company procedures and compliance requirements. Ability to work respectfully with drivers, workshop staff, office staff and customers. Experience that may suit this role transport, logistics, fleet or dispatch bus, truck, coach, charter or yard operations rostering, scheduling or service coordination radio operations, control room work or call centre escalation administration roles with strong reporting and record-keeping requirements Previous exposure to fatigue management, Chain of Responsibility or NHVR requirements would be helpful, but training can be provided for the right person.
