About the role Our Hobart Donor Centre is growing, and we’re looking for a Donor Service Nursing Assistant passionate about people. You’ll support donors through their donation journey, delivering an exceptional experience every time. No previous blood collection experience? No problem! Full training is provided — all you need is curiosity, motivation, and a genuine passion for helping others. A day in the centre might include: Greeting and interviewing donors to check eligibility Completing routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests Setting up and packing down collection equipment Safely collecting whole blood, plasma, and platelets Monitoring donors post-donation and assisting rebookings Collaborating to achieve collection targets Besides having a real passion to deliver an exceptional donor experience, you’ll need to be able to: Deliver positive, welcoming interactions using your customer-facing experience Be comfortable handling needles and biological materials Occasionally lift 9–22.7 kg Support and foster a strong team culture Frequently stand, walk, bend, and assist with equipment set-up and pack-down Be flexible to work varied shifts (Monday to Sunday) across a rotating roster, typically 3–4 shifts per week What we’re looking for: Customer service or patient-facing experience Positive attitude and collaborative mindset Ability to work together to achieve team goals and KPIs Benefits and Wellbeing We place our employee's well-being at the forefront and express gratitude and care for one another.
