About the role Blackboard Varsity is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Casual Chef to join our team at our Blackboard Cafe located in Varsity Lakes, Queensland. This is a casual role offering 30-35 hours per week. As a Casual Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of delicious meals in a fast-paced cafe environment. What you'll be doing Prepare and cook a range of cafe-style meals and specials to a consistently high standard Ensure all food service and preparation areas are kept clean, tidy and well-stocked Work closely with the Front of House team to deliver excellent customer service Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations Contribute to developing new menu items and improving existing dishes What we're looking for 1-2 years' experience as a Chef or Cook in a cafe, restaurant or similar fast-paced hospitality environment Formal cookery qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery Strong time management and multitasking skills to work efficiently in a busy kitchen Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to food safety and hygiene A passion for creating delicious, high-quality meals A positive, customer-focused attitude and the ability to work well in a team What we offer At Blackboard Varsity, we pride ourselves on creating a supportive and inclusive work environment.
