Job title: Enrolled Nurse — Skin Cancer Clinic | Procedural Nursing | Ashmore Classification: Healthcare & Medical → Nursing - General Medical & Surgical Work type: Full-time / Part-time (3–5 days per week) Salary: $34 – $38 per hour super (≈ $75K – $84K package, full-time equivalent) Location: Ashmore, Gold Coast QLD 4214 About us Ashmore Skin Assessment Surgery is an owner-operated skin cancer clinic on the central Gold Coast. We do skin checks, excisions, flaps, and minor surgical procedures — high-quality, hands-on medicine where the work genuinely matters to patients. Skin cancer affects two in three Australians by age 70, and we're proud to be part of the early-detection and treatment pathway that saves lives. We're a small, close team. Patients return to us year after year because we look after them properly, and we look after each other the same way. We're growing, and we're looking for an experienced or motivated Enrolled Nurse to join us. About the role This isn't a typical practice nurse role of triage and immunisations. It's procedural nursing in a focused clinical setting. You'll be: Assisting the GP with skin excisions, flaps, biopsies, and minor surgery Setting up sterile fields and preparing patients for procedures Wound care — assessment, dressings, suture removal, follow-up Managing sterilisation, instruments, and clinical stock Phone-based patient follow-up after procedures and pathology results Helping cover reception when our admin team is short — phones, check-ins, bookings You'll work directly with Dr Tim Ibrahim (MBBS, FRACGP, DRANZCOG Adv.). Full training in skin cancer procedures will be provided — you don't need prior excision experience, but you do need to want to learn. The kind of person we're looking for The technical skills can be taught. These traits matter more: Reliable. You turn up, on time, every time. If something happens, you call. Honest. You own mistakes, ask when you don't know, and don't pretend. Calm with anxious patients. Skin cancer is scary for people. How you read a room and respond to nervous patients matters more than almost anything else. Organised. You have actual systems — lists, reminders, handover notes — for keeping the ship steady. Flexible. You don't see reception cover as beneath you. The clinic runs because everyone pitches in. Curious. You want to get good at wound care, sterile technique, and skin cancer pathology — not just clock in and out. Required AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (current and active) Diploma of Nursing Current First Aid and CPR Right to work in Australia (we are not able to sponsor visas) Reliable transport to Ashmore Highly regarded but not essential Endorsement to administer medications Prior experience in general practice, women's health, or procedural settings Familiarity with Best Practice software Wound care experience What we offer $34–$38 per hour depending on experience, plus super and full leave entitlements Genuinely interesting clinical work — every day is different Small, supportive team where your work is seen and valued Real training in skin cancer procedures from a senior GP Predictable weekday hours — no nights, no weekends, no on-call 3–5 days per week, flexible for the right person Career growth as the clinic expands Free parking, central Gold Coast location To apply Send your CV and a short cover note telling us: Why this kind of work appeals to you Your earliest available start date Your current availability (days/hours) We respond to all shortlisted applicants within a few days — we don't ghost.
