In this hands-on workshop role, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating steel components to exact specifications, ensuring quality workmanship, safety, and on-time delivery. You’ll work as part of a supportive production team, with opportunities to assist across different areas of the workshop including paint and yard/dispatch. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret fabrication drawings and work orders Weld and fabricate steel components to Australian Standards Operate hand and power tools including welding equipment, grinders, and cutting tools Measure, cut, assemble, and prepare steel components accurately Move materials using overhead cranes and forklifts (if licensed) Carry out quality checks and maintain a high standard of workmanship Support general workshop, yard, and production tasks as required Skills and Experience Trade qualification in Boilermaking or Welding Experience in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Strong commitment to safety and quality Team player with a reliable and positive attitude Willingness to learn, take direction, and assist across multiple areas Forklift and/or crane tickets (desirable but not essential) About the Company ABFI Steel Group is committed to delivering high-quality steel products and exceptional customer service, setting a strong benchmark for reliability and performance across Australia.
