Conditions: Herberton is a 38 bed facility located on the Atherton Tablelands . It provides patient centred palliative care, aged care and a respite service. 3 ward rounds per week but if Dr unfamiliar with it and ieMR may need one daily . You are the only doctor. After hrs on call for Herberton Hospital which is a nursing home, Mon to Friday . Public out patient clinic, one half day per week using Communicare and the rest is general practice with some time allocated with another Dr , sometimes on your own across 3 locations using best practice. It is all primary care with minor emergency for rural town . The locum will be expected to work in the GP practices around Herberton as well, the hospital work is not really that taxing. Herberton is a small town of 900 people located 20 minutes from Atherton, the oldest town on the Atherton Tablelands and the entire precinct is listed on the National Heritage Register. It is home to the Historic Village Herberton, a 16 acre tin mining town and the Atherton Herberton Historic Railway steam locomotive.
