About the role As Sales Manager, Merchants, you will be responsible for the overall performance of our merchant sales function across Sydney Metro territories, including major partners such as Tradelink, Bunnings, Reece and independent merchants. You will lead and develop a team of sales professionals while owning the strategy, execution and results for the segment. Key responsibilities include Delivering budgeted sales revenue, margin and market share growth through strong customer partnerships and disciplined execution. Developing and implementing state-based merchant strategies, plans and coverage models. Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing sales team with clear expectations and regular performance rhythms. Strengthening relationships with key decision makers across merchant partners and independent customers. Driving customer engagement initiatives including showroom execution, new product launches, toolbox talks and trade activation. Using CRM insights and sales data to identify growth opportunities and improve share of wallet. Managing operational discipline across forecasting, reporting, expenses and risk management. Staying close to industry trends, competitor activity and regulatory changes to inform future opportunities. About you You are a commercially minded sales leader who thrives on building strong teams and customer relationships. You bring a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on leadership, with the credibility to influence both internally and externally. You will bring Significant experience as a Sales Manager within the building or construction industry. A proven track record of leading teams to deliver sustainable sales growth. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Sound commercial judgement, analytical capability and decision-making confidence. Experience developing and executing sales strategies and customer plans. A leadership style that builds trust, accountability and engagement. Tertiary qualifications in Business or Marketing, or equivalent practical experience. Why join GWA?
