About the Role We are seeking an experienced cafe and brunch chef responsible for maintaining exceptional food standards and operational efficiency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is a casual position based in our Broadbeach cafe, where you will work alongside a passionate team to deliver a premium culinary experience that complements our specialty coffee. What you’ll be doing Kitchen Leadership: Assisting the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and leading the line during busy services. Culinary Excellence: Preparing and presenting high-quality dishes consistently, ensuring every plate meets our specialty standards. Operational Management: Overseeing food prep, inventory control, and ordering to maintain fresh stock and minimize waste. Compliance & Safety: Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in line with food safety regulations. Team Development: Mentoring junior kitchen staff and fostering a positive, collaborative team culture. What we’re looking for Experience: Minimum 4 years experience in a high pace cafe environment. Pastry or Baking skills: A background in baking or pastries is prefered. Technical Skill: Strong culinary foundations with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and modern cafe fare. Leadership: Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team under pressure. Reliability: A professional, "can-do" attitude with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment: You will need flexible availability across a 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays, to support our peak trade.
