THE ROLE This is a newly created full-time position and a key hire for our business. As our draftsperson, you'll be responsible for producing the complete plan sets required to lodge development and construction applications with both NSW and QLD councils – from concept through to council-ready documentation. Beyond drafting, you'll also roll up your sleeves to support our estimating function, working alongside the team using our existing estimating tools to help price and scope projects accurately. No two days are the same. You'll work across live projects, liaise directly with our team, and play a genuine role in shaping how we deliver homes to our clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Produce complete, council-ready plan sets for modular homes for lodgement with NSW and QLD councils • Prepare architectural drawings including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details • Ensure all documentation meets relevant council requirements, the NCC, and applicable standards for both states • Liaise with the team to understand project scope, design intent, and client requirements • Assist with estimating using the business's current estimating tools and software • Maintain accurate and organised drawing registers and documentation • Coordinate with external consultants (structural engineers, certifiers) where required • Support continuous improvement of our drafting processes, templates, and standards WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Essential: • Demonstrated experience as a Draftsperson in a residential construction environment • Minimum 5 years of draftsperson experience in residential construction • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit — tell us what you use and how well you use it • Sound knowledge of residential construction documentation requirements • Understanding of NSW and/or QLD council DA and CC lodgement processes • Ability to produce complete plan sets from scratch with minimal supervision • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a small team Highly Regarded: • Experience with modular, prefabricated, or volume residential construction • Familiarity with estimating processes or construction cost planning • Experience lodging applications with both NSW and QLD councils • Relevant qualification in Drafting, Building Design, or Architectural Technology
