Why this role Learn a specialised pathway in fire panel testing and detection systems Structured on-the-job training with experienced Fire Technicians TVH supports training, tickets and development toward FPAS accreditation The opportunity We're hiring a Fire System Maintenance trainee for our Darwin, Northern Territory team to support the inspection, testing and maintenance of fire indicator panels and detection systems across commercial, healthcare and government sites. You will learn on the job with experienced technicians, build your understanding of AS 1851, and develop the skills required to progress into a Fire Technician role. What you'll be doing Assist with routine fire panel testing and fire detection system inspections to AS 1851 Support testing of detectors, manual call points, alarms, warning devices and FIPs Learn how to operate, test, isolate, reset and reinstate fire panels under supervision Help identify faults, defects and non-compliances and escalate them promptly Complete service reports, photos and asset data through our mobile platform Provide clear handovers to supervising technicians, schedulers and site contacts What you'll bring A genuine interest in fire services, panel testing and compliance-based maintenance Willingness to learn AS 1851 requirements and follow structured testing procedures Current driver's licence Right to work in Australia Bonus points for White Card or previous site-based experience Exposure to fire, electrical, HVAC, mechanical or maintenance work Confined space, working at heights and EWP tickets Interest in FIP fault-finding, detection systems and technical troubleshooting What TVH gives you that others don't Structured training with experienced Fire Technicians and local leadership Career pathway into Fire Technician, Panel Technician or broader fire compliance roles Site allowances, travel allowances and tool allowances where applicable Funded tickets, licences and upskilling - we invest in your development Career development opportunities available, with FIFO pathways also available for those interested in regional project work Stable national pipeline of work About TVH TVH (Total Ventilation & Hygiene Services) is a national HVAC, refrigeration, fire, electrical and ventilation services business.
