The Dommar Group of companies is South Australia based family owned group of businesses with over 36 years proven experience, with a primary focus in providing Project Management Services to Tier One Clients and the delivery of inhouse Turn Key Construction Projects; requires a suitably qualified Accountant to work with in our new Lonsdale office, South Australia. Ideally, the person will be a good communicator and team player with tertiary qualifications in accounting or similar having minimum 3 years experience for junior and up to 20 plus years experience for a senior accountant (a broad range of experience will be considered because of our broad types of works performed from consulting to constructions). Whilst the position offered is full time Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, will consider persons seeking part time work minimum 4 days per week (equivalent 32 hrs a week). Essential tasks and duties for the position: Manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple business entities and multiple projects, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. Prepare and lodge BAS, PAYG, superannuation, and assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financials and tax returns in line with ATO requirements. Process weekly / fortnightly payroll, including timesheets, allowances, super, and employee / contractor bank payments. Calculate and process payments for suppliers, utilities, contractors, and statutory obligations. Reconcile bank accounts, loan accounts, credit cards, and supplier statements; monitor cash flow and payment schedules. Manage project related accounting, including contractor invoices, progress claims, cost tracking, and respective client / project invoicing. Prepare monthly P&L reports, trial balances, and basic management reports for management. Maintain accurate financial records using MYOB (essential) and Excel, ensuring correct project coding and documentation filing. Provide general accounting and administrative support to the office team where needed. Ideal Background (Brief) Strong hands-on bookkeeping / accounting experience (construction or engineering industry highly regarded). Solid working knowledge of ATO systems, compliance, and reporting standards. Confident user of MYOB and Excel. Reliable, organised, and comfortable working in a small professional team handling multiple projects.
