A little about the role As a Placement & Matching Worker, you will work closely with a network of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the timely placement of children and young people in Out of Home Care (OOHC) with caring and supportive foster families. Key responsibilities include: Developing strong relationships with the Department for Child Protection (DCP), foster carers, and KAA’s Carer Recruitment and Social Work teams to enable timely and well-informed placement decisions that prioritise children and young people’s needs With support from the Placement & Matching Advisor, coordinating placement processes end-to-end, including matching assessments, meetings, communications, carer reimbursements and transition planning Maintaining accurate documentation and administrative records, ensuring privacy, quality and compliance with KAA policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements The base salary for this position is $88,090.08 - $94,788.72 per annum super salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum. This position is full-time, temporary contract until May 2027. About you You are proactive, organised, and someone that would thrive in a collaborative environment centred around finding safe, stable placements for children and young people in OOHC. We’re looking for someone who: Has a degree in Social Work, Youth, Community Services or a related field, with at least 2 years’ experience working with children and young people, preferably within in foster care, adoption or child welfare settings Demonstrates strong communication and relationship-building skills, enabling effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders Brings sound knowledge of child safeguarding practices and relevant legislation, with the ability to apply this in placement decision-making Has a strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate documentation in a fast-moving environment My Key Assets The health and wellbeing of our people is at the core of our employee and client experience.
