Position Title: Speech Pathologist Employment Type: Casual / Part-Time / Full-Time (flexible) Reports To: Clinical Nurse Consultant & Operations Manager Model of Care: Mobile community-based service with multidisciplinary collaboration Role Overview The Speech Pathologist will support NDSCare participants to build communication, language, social interaction, feeding readiness, and functional capacity across daily routines. This role suits a clinician who enjoys meaningful community-based work and values collaborative, family-centred practice. The Speech Pathologist will work closely with the CNC, RNs, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Educators, and AHAs under NDSCare’s transdisciplinary model. New graduates and early-career clinicians are encouraged to apply. We value the right clinician over experience alone, and provide strong supervision and training. Key Responsibilities The Speech Pathologist will: Complete assessments in speech, receptive/expressive language, play, AAC, literacy, fluency, and social communication. Provide therapy for articulation, phonological awareness, expressive/receptive language, AAC, social skills, and functional communication. Develop goals with families to promote meaningful participation across home, school, and community. Provide parent/carer coaching and collaborate with teachers, learning support staff, and support coordinators. Produce high-quality reports including communication assessments, progress reviews, and NDIS review documentation. Work in partnership with the allied health and nursing teams to support whole-child outcomes. Delegate appropriate programs to AHAs, including training, resources, and regular review of AHA-delivered sessions. Attend school meetings, case conferences, and multidisciplinary planning sessions. The Speech Pathologist will have access to: Regular 1:1 supervision with senior clinicians and the CNC Internal communication and AAC training modules Delegation and AHA supervision training Shadowing opportunities across disciplines MDT case reviews and clinical debriefs Support for external PD and structured career progression pathways Requirements Essential: Bachelor or Master of Speech Pathology SPA membership Australian working rights Police Check NDIS Worker Screening WWCC Driver’s licence reliable vehicle Desirable (not required): Experience with AAC, paediatrics, disability, or community practice Familiarity with NDIS reporting and functional communication assessments Experience collaborating in transdisciplinary teams Work Environment & Travel This role is community-based, involving travel to homes, childcare, schools, and community settings. Travel is paid at the clinician’s hourly rate (up to 1 hour/day depending on schedule), plus $0.99/km and toll/parking reimbursement. Our admin team supports clinicians with efficient scheduling. Remuneration Competitive hourly rates aligned with or above HPSS Award levels. This role begins as a casual or contractor, with a 3–6 month pathway to permanent employment as caseload grows.
