We specialise in the assembly, testing and site support of electrical switchboards built to AS/NZS standards. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Switchboard Design & Estimator to join our team in a practical, detail-focused role. This position is responsible for preparing switchboard designs, drawings and quotations, while liaising with suppliers and internal teams to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery. This role suits someone who is confident in both design and estimating, and enjoys working closely with the workshop to deliver practical, buildable solutions. Key Responsibilities Prepare switchboard layouts and drawings Complete take-offs, pricing and quotation preparation Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing and lead times Prepare and review bills of materials (BOMs) Maintain project documentation and records Ensure designs comply with AS/NZS standards Work closely with the workshop team to ensure designs are practical and buildable Track and follow up on quotations and project progress About You Proven experience in designing and quoting electrical switchboards Current QLD Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Licence (essential) Strong understanding of AS/NZS standards relevant to switchboards Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Effective communication and time management skills CAD experience (AutoCAD or similar) highly regarded What We Offer Opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across multiple industries Supportive, hands-on team environment Well-equipped workshop with real project exposure Local Cairns-based work Varied work across multiple projects and industries
