About the Program: Families Together is a Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) funded program that offers flexible, family‑centred case management to help keep children safe and supported at home. Working alongside families, the program aims to reduce the need for out‑of‑home care by building on existing strengths and capabilities. The Program supports parents and carers to respond confidently to their children’s needs and create safe, nurturing home environments through parenting support, strengthened family functioning, promoting healthy child development, and providing practical assistance to ensure homes are safe and supportive places for children to grow. About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Level 5 Caseworker to join our supportive team in Tuggerah (Central Coast, NSW) on a permanent full-time basis, 5 days per week . Reporting to the Specialist Lead, the role partners with families, communities, DCJ and broader service systems to reduce risk and support safe family life, exercising high levels of autonomy, professional judgement and accountability to achieve child safety and family preservation outcomes. To be successful in this role, you will be passionate in delivering trauma-informed, culturally safe, whole-of-family casework interventions and work alongside families to reduce risk and strengthen safety. Key Responsibilities: Independently engage with families in complex and resistant situations, building trust through respectful, transparent and consistent practice. Complete comprehensive, whole‑of‑family assessments that analyse complexity beyond merely presenting the issues and articulate defensible professional judgement. Co‑design a single, integrated Family Plan that aligns family-identified goals with child safety and well-being priorities. Define clear actions, responsibilities, and timeframes across systems, promoting strengths, sustainability and reduced service dependency. Delivers practical, relational, and therapeutic supports over extended periods, adapting interventions as family needs change. Maintain flexible availability aligned to family needs, including after‑hours support when required. Maintain high‑quality, timely, and defensible case records and reports that clearly document risk, professional decision-making and outcomes for review by DCJ and internal forums. What You’ll Bring: Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling (or other related discipline). Proven experience providing casework interventions to children and families with complex needs. Act as a senior peer support resource, offering guidance, coaching, and day-to-day support to colleagues. Demonstrated case management experience using a strength based, trauma informed, person centred approach that builds family capacity. High‑level engagement and assessment, including the ability to lead integrated response, collaborate across systems and maintain accountability for outcomes.
