Our business is known for fresh food, generous variety and practical, hands-on cooking that suits local families, regular customers, takeaway orders and home delivery demand. We are seeking an experienced Cook who can support our kitchen with consistency, speed and proper care across a broad fast-casual menu. This role suits someone who understands that our food is simple in appearance but still requires strong kitchen discipline, timing, food safety, portion control and pride in preparation. About the Role The Cook will prepare, season, cook, portion and present food in line with our menu requirements and daily service needs. The role will involve working across pizza preparation, pasta cooking, grill and fryer items, kebabs, parmas, burgers, hot food packs, salads and other menu items served through dine-in, takeaway and delivery orders. Key Duties and Responsibilities i. Prepare and cook classic, signature and chef’s special pizzas, including Hawaiian, Aussie, Capricciosa, Pepperoni, Vegetarian, Supreme, BBQ Chicken, Marinara, Garlic Prawn, Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Punjabi Paneer, Kebab Pizza and other store menu varieties. ii. Prepare pizza dough, sauces, cheese, meats, seafood, vegetables, herbs and toppings for daily service, ensuring freshness, correct portioning and proper station readiness. iii. Cook and assemble pasta dishes including spaghetti, gnocchi, ravioli, tortellini, fettuccine, lasagne, butter chicken pasta and chilli paneer pasta in line with customer orders and kitchen standards. iv. Prepare kebabs, souvlakis, snack packs and meat boxes using chicken, lamb, mixed meat, falafel, lettuce, tomato, onion, chips, cheese, garlic sauce, chilli sauce and related ingredients. v. Cook chicken parmas, Hawaiian parmas, fish and chips, battered flake, calamari-style seafood items, dim sims, potato cakes, spring rolls, nuggets, loaded chips and other fryer-based meals safely and consistently. vi. Prepare burgers and hotdogs, including plain burgers, cheeseburgers, egg burgers, burger with the lot, chicken schnitzel burgers, vegetarian burgers, Aussie BBQ hotdogs, Hawaiian hotdogs, Mexican chilli hotdogs and related menu items. vii. Prepare wings, meatballs, rib sauce items, gravy, garlic bread, garden salads, chicken salads, kebab salads and side dishes required for dine-in, takeaway, delivery and family meal orders. viii. Examine foodstuffs before cooking, including dough, cheese, meats, seafood, poultry, paneer, vegetables, sauces, pasta, breads, frozen items and chilled products to ensure quality, freshness and suitability for service. ix. Operate and regulate commercial ovens, grills, fryers, hotplates, pasta equipment, refrigeration units and food preparation equipment to maintain safe cooking temperatures and consistent food results. x. Season food during preparation and cooking, including pizza toppings, marinated meats, grilled items, pasta sauces, kebab meats, chicken products, seafood, vegetables and loaded chip toppings. xi. Portion meals accurately, plate and package orders neatly, and add sauces, garnishes, cheese, chips, salads, dressings and accompaniments according to the order type and menu expectations. xii. Store raw, cooked and prepared food in temperature-controlled facilities, ensuring correct separation, covering, labelling, rotation, cooling and safe handling of high-risk ingredients. xiii. Prepare food to meet reasonable customer requests, including vegetarian options, spice-level adjustments, topping changes, sauce preferences, grilled or battered fish options and allergy-aware preparation where practicable. xiv. Assist with estimating food requirements by monitoring stock levels, delivery demand, popular menu items, family deals, pizza orders, wastage and peak service patterns. xv. Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen while working closely with management, kitchen hands and service staff to keep orders moving accurately during busy nights, weekends and delivery periods. Skills and Experience Required The successful applicant should have: i. AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant experience in a comparable commercial cooking role. ii. Experience in a pizza, pasta, takeaway, café, restaurant, fast-casual or similar high-volume kitchen environment. iii. Practical ability to prepare pizzas, pasta, grilled items, fried items, kebabs, burgers, parmas, salads and takeaway meals. iv. Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, temperature control, stock rotation, allergen awareness and safe food storage. v. Confidence using commercial pizza ovens, grills, fryers, hotplates, refrigeration units and food preparation equipment. vi. Ability to work calmly and accurately during peak dinner trade, weekends, public holidays, delivery rushes and family meal order periods.
