This role applies strong software engineering principles to automation delivery, focusing on robust integration patterns, reusable components, reliability, and maintainability to connect systems and teams, orchestrating processes that improve speed, consistency and operational efficiency, reducing manual effort across the organisation. It is best suited to someone who is motivated by delivering business automation outcomes through low-code and integration platforms within the Microsoft ecosystem, and who can draw on .NET and React experience where needed to build fit-for-purpose user interfaces or supporting components that elevate the end-user experience. What You'll Be Doing Contribute to the automation strategy and roadmap, working with the Digital & Data Leadership Team to prioritise initiatives aligned with business goals and delivering measurable value. Collaborate with Digital & Data team members and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical automation designs. Estimate and plan delivery efforts and timelines, delivering solutions that are secure, scalable, and aligned with our architecture principles and governance standards. Design and deliver automation solutions primarily using low-code automation and integration platforms (e.g. Workato) and complimentary Microsoft technologies to meet requirements, including integrations with core business and enterprise systems to enable data flow and workflow processing. Where beneficial, use .NET and React to build lightweight supporting services or user interfaces that improve usability and adoption, rather than treating the role as a traditional custom software development position. Apply software engineering best practices to automation delivery, including version control, error handling, monitoring, logging and testing. Build and maintain reusable automation components and templates that can be leveraged across multiple processes to accelerate delivery, reduce duplication, and promote standardisation across the organisation. Lead testing efforts to ensure quality and reliability of solutions. Provide ongoing support of automation solutions in production environments. Oversee the administration and optimisation of automation and integration platforms (e.g. Workato) to ensure they are secure, scalable, and reliable, including support plan, disaster recovery plan and proactive monitoring. Partner with stakeholders to define success measures and validate realised benefits post‑implementation. Establish and uphold development standards and lifecycle practices. Champion process improvement, continuously reviewing and refining automation workflows and development processes and practices. Benefits that matter Our people share in our success.
