Salary Package: $119,250 – $128,250 Full-Time | 37.5 hours per week (Part-time considered for the right candidate) with 5 Weeks Annual Leave Professional Development Allowance up to $1,500 About Desert Dietitians: Desert Dietitians is a dedicated provider of expert nutritional care and holistic services, committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve across Central Australia. We are a supportive and innovative team focused on evidence-based care, practical nutrition solutions, and empowering clients to make sustainable lifestyle changes. As an NDIS-registered provider, we work with a diverse client base ranging from paediatrics to adults, delivering hands-on practical capacity building supports. Based in Alice Springs, this role also includes outreach travel to remote communities by four-wheel drive or light aircraft. The Opportunity: We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who values holistic care, enjoys building strong client relationships, and is interested in working in a rural and remote setting. No two days are the same. Your caseload may include private practice consultations, disability nutrition, aged care, women’s health, group cooking sessions, outreach services, telehealth, and more. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualised nutrition assessments, interventions and care plans Provide evidence-based dietary counselling across areas including: Disability nutrition Aged care Chronic disease management (diabetes, cardiovascular disease etc.) Gut health Women’s health Weight and metabolic health Other specialty interest areas highly regarded Conduct consultations in-clinic, via telehealth and through outreach services Develop practical, culturally appropriate nutrition strategies Maintain accurate and confidential client records and reports Collaborate with GPs, allied health professionals and community services Participate in health promotion and community education activities Provide mentoring or supervision to junior staff where required Ensure compliance with Dietitians Australia standards and relevant guidelines About You: To be successful in this role, you will have: Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics Eligibility for Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status with Dietitians Australia Post-graduate experience as a practising dietitian Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team Excellent organisational and time management skills Understanding of food and nutrition issues within cross-cultural contexts Experience developing and delivering culturally sensitive, evidence-based nutrition programs Interest or experience in rural, remote and/or Aboriginal health Current Ochre Card / Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain) National Police Check (or willingness to obtain) NT Driver’s Licence or ability to obtain, with capacity to travel to remote communities If you are passionate about improving health outcomes and ready for a rewarding career in Alice Springs, we’d love to hear from you – submit a cover letter and resume today!
