Description Position Overview We are seeking a proactive and experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our Civilmart team based in Cairns, QLD . Reporting directly to the Branch Manager , this role is responsible for leading and coordinating all Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) activities across the branch. This is a hands-on role suited to a driven professional who thrives in a manufacturing or industrial environment and is passionate about fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement across HSEQ systems. You will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our HSEQ Management Systems, supporting operational teams, and ensuring alignment with legislative requirements and organisational expectations. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HSEQ Management Systems across the branch Develop, review and maintain SOPs, SWMS, policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements Provide practical HSEQ advice and support to managers, supervisors, and site personnel Conduct risk assessments across plant, equipment, hazardous substances, and work activities Coordinate and participate in HSEQ audits, inspections and corrective actions Investigate incidents, near misses and injuries, ensuring root causes and preventative actions are identified Support Return-to-Work programs in collaboration with People & Culture Monitor and analyse WorkCover claims and incident trends to drive improvement initiatives Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and maintain ISO9001 Quality systems Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and support quality improvements across production Maintain HSEQ systems (e.g. Intelex, Skytrust) and ensure accurate data and reporting Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual HSEQ reports Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, toolbox talks, and visible leadership Ensure environmental compliance and support incident reporting and corrective actions Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external regulators Skills And Experiences About You Proven experience in a similar HSEQ role within manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and compliance requirements Demonstrated experience across safety, quality and environmental management systems Experience with incident investigations, audits, and risk management processes Understanding of Return-to-Work processes and injury management Ability to influence, engage and build relationships across all levels of the business Strong communication and interpersonal skills High attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving capabilities Intermediate Microsoft Office skills; experience with HSEQ systems is advantageous Relevant Diploma qualification in WHS/OHS, Quality or related discipline (or equivalent experience) Additional Requirements Must hold valid working rights in Australia Ability to pass a pre ‑ employment medical assessment, including Drug & Alcohol screening What You Can Expect A competitive remuneration An exciting challenge and meaningful responsibilities A company focused on your growth and career development Numerous global opportunities within our CRH network, offering career growth and international exposure
