Electrical Project Engineer - Food & Industrial Projects Babbage is growing, and we’re looking for a practical, solutions-focused Electrical Project Engineer to join our team delivering industrial and food manufacturing projects across Australia and New Zealand. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across both engineering and site delivery environments - someone comfortable moving between concept development, project coordination, troubleshooting, and commissioning. You’ll play a key role in delivering electrical systems for complex industrial projects, working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept through to completion. What You’ll Be Doing • Deliver electrical project components from concept through to commissioning • Interpret and review electrical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and technical documentation • Support FEED studies, concept development, and budget estimating • Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal engineering teams • Manage site activities including installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting • Support projects involving HV/LV systems, controls, automation, and industrial networks • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements • Contribute practical engineering input to improve constructability and project outcomes About You You’re a practical engineer who enjoys solving problems and working closely with both project teams and site personnel.You’ll ideally bring: • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) • Trade background (Electrician or similar) highly regarded • Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial environments • Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, automation, and industrial networks • Experience with 2D CAD and engineering documentation • Ability to support concept design and FEED development • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills • A proactive, hands-on, solutions-focused mindset Why Join Babbage? • Diverse and technically challenging industrial projects • Exposure across the full project lifecycle • Collaborative and supportive team culture • Opportunity to combine practical site work with engineering delivery • Professional growth and career development opportunities • Flexible location options in Auckland or Geelong • Competitive salary package Ready to Apply?
